I just acquired this jacket--a corporate freebie, swag. It seems to be a pretty darn good Chinese knock off, probably made in the same factory as a name brand. The jacket has decent technical features; some water/wind resistant materials at the shoulders and wrists, a shoulder pocket for your mp3 or cell phone or glasses, a larger chest pocket. Both of these pockets have a tiny slit that would allow a cord (headphone cord?) to pass through. Two big interior pockets are nice--a good spot to put a book, a hat, various items. Plus two hand pockets that zipper. That's a fairly good amount of storage space for a jacket that doesn't look or feel bulky.

I like the drawstring hem--adjustable on both sides with shock cord and a nice quick release. There are tags on the zippers that would make them easier to use with gloves, and a little coat hook at the neck. The inner side of the jacket seems to be of a more breathable material--in other words it's not just a straight fleece jacket, but rather the interior is of different design. The wrists have an elastic that keeps them snug and much (not all) of the wind out. It does not have pit zips.

The red and black look is just all right for me: the red is super bright--fire engine red, I suppose. That'll be helpful when I bike ride with the jacket, but it's a bit much to wear indoors. The jacket stands out a bit much for my taste. I'd personally be happier with less radiant color.

The size "large" fits fairly typically. I'd probably like it a wee bit more athletically snug, and a tiny bit longer in the arms, but overall, I'd say the size is "true."

The bottom line is that I would recommend this jacket to anyone, at the right price. If you feel that you're getting a good deal in comparison with a big-name brand, you probably are. It's not too good to be true: it is a good jacket. I will consider a lower or higher rating as time goes by, but my first impression is very positive.
