The splice energy is a great suit! The fit is tight and the style is right.

This style of swim suit from Speedo was choosen for a summer swim team (black & blue) and I have stuck with it ever since. Originally I purchased this model swim suit from a Speedo dealer who explained you want a tight suit to create less resistance in the water and hold its shape better in the water. At first my children complained about the tighness of the fit, however the suit broke in after a few days of swimming.

The seaming really helps this suit conform to the body! The fit follows the curves of the body nicely around the waist. The back seam does a great job of helping the suit fit the rump with ample coverage and no bagginess. I like the ample coverage since some suits are skimpy on the backside, this suit is just right and no tugging required.

I have compared the speedo to the Tyr the winter swim team uses and the fit of the speedo is far superior. The Tyr is baggy on the girls and the back hangs a little as they get out of the water. So I choose to get this speedo in the team colors (black & gold) sans the logo.

The material of the speedo is nice and thick. The lining is the same black color as the suit. I prefer the black lining. The material holds shape well, even after months of pool water. One of my children even wore their swim team speedo suit to the beach to boogie board with. Even with pool and salt water the color is vibrant. One suggestion, no dryers, ever. Rinse in water and hang to dry.

The price is in line with other "performance" swim suits and I highly recommend!
