I'm a big fan of body armour even for cross-country work. Even a pathetic tipover can ruin your day if you catch a rock with your knee. But, I hear you say, what about the weight? the heat? the discomfort?

These are light enough and comfy enough that I don't notice I'm wearing them. I don't find them hot, either, probably because the back is open.

I haven't crashed properly wearing them, yet, so I can't actually vouch for the level of protection.
