I got this for my S&W j-frame, with a hammer. When it arrived I thought it w defective or that I had gotten the wrong one because I could not get the retention strap around the hammer and to snap. I pulled and stretched the leather for about 30 minutes, and finally I got it to snap. After I got the leather worked in that first day, now it fits perfectly. It snaps and unsnaps easily, but not too easily, and it provides a very secure and tight hold!
