I generally like Salomon's range of trail running gear, and these shoes are no exception. I wanted something that was a little less aggressive than their trail running shoes, that could also handle gentle trails & city-to-trail transitions.These shoes fit the bill. They are comfortable, the lacing system is proven & works, and they have a smooth ride, both on city asphalt as well as dirt trails. I haven't tested them on anything gnarly, but then again, that wasn't their intended use when I purchased them.
Lengthwise, they fit the same as all my other Salomon shoes. However, this model feels wider, and definitely has a lot more room in the toe box. My one gripe with Salomon in the past was that I would find a lot of their models to be slightly narrow. But this shoe is perfect!
