This is the supplement that started my three beautiful older thoroughbreds dancing and prancing down a very steep hill (400' descent in 1/2 mile) in spite of achy ankles, painful stifles and arthritic knees. I had tried several products (MSM, Cortaflex, B-L pellets, and one other bought at Tractor Supply) without discernible results. The legs of all three ex-racehorses are variously marked with scars, pinfiring points, and calcification of the pastern. One is notable for her deceptively named "windpuffs," a label that glosses over serious damage to osselets in the ankles. Her front ankles look like bags of marbles. All three are generally sweet-tempered and willing, but descending the hill was obviously painful for each, and they moved downhill reluctantly. After three weeks on this product, every one strode down that slippery slidey hill without hesitation, and there has been no more mincing, flinching or refusing. The day after riding, none now show any signs of stiffness. They play in the field like colts, running, bucking, twisting and jumping. Well, the old mare doesn't buck very often, but in the pasture she regularly gallops downhill, leaps up with all four feet in the air, and skids to a stop. When I ran out of the product due to a vendor's error, that 22-year old mare was walking with difficulty after about 10 days. Another older mare, this one from the National Show Horse registry, looked equally stiff after going off the supplement. This product isn't cheap, so it's worth it to comparison shop.
