From Champion : this is an inexpensive fabric outer shell in a crowded field of more expensive (and more comfortable) technical shells. A good outer layer for a 3-part layering system in cold weather. The breathability is exceptionally poor compared to other more expensive technical fabrics, but this can be acceptable if you are able to open the front zipper and keep your arms free.
Not right for a hike. This was a last minute purchase to replace a three layer Gore-Tex before a last minute flight. As a piece of disposable travel wear, it met my needs. I would not select this item for wilderness adventuring or mountain hiking, where your life depends on avoiding overheating and good technical fabric is essential.
