I went to a local running store to get a running shoe fitting. I tried about 5 different pairs recommended by the sales person and did a running demo in each. The Asics were hands down the most comfortable. They were a little heavier than the other brands because the Gel cushioning system is a little heftier than the foam alternatives, but they are just so comfortable. I'm not a hard core runner, I do about 5-10 miles a week mixed in w/ other cardio activities, but I can easily run an hour in these shoes without any knee or back pain. There is plenty of room in the toe area for my toes to move and grip. The positioning of the lace holes allows me to get a very adjustable, snug fit across the top of my foot, keeping my foot in place while running. FYI, I threw out the floppy footbed thingies that came with the shoes and replaced them w/ a pair of "green" Superfeet insoles (that I bought from the local running store in exchange for the fitting service, since I didn't buy the shoes there... they only had one ugly color choice!).

I have purchased Asics exclusively for running shoes for the last ~10 years and I am convinced you cannot find a more supportive, better constructed shoe.

New Balance Women's WT20v2 Minimus Trail Running Shoe,Grey/Black,9 B US Review

I read literally hundreds of Amazon reviews on how this shoe fit before ordering and had a bit of a sizing struggle so wanted to write this review in hopes that it might help someone else. :-)
First I tried model WT20v1 (first version). I wanted to love this shoe but it ran very small in comparison to the WT20v2 model. The width and toe box are the same dimensions in both models but the length is very different. I normally wear a size 8.5 or 9 in running shoes and ordered both sizes. Couldn't even get the 8.5 on. The 9 fit but was very snug and I could have used a 9.5 (and I've never gone that large in shoes before). I also ordered both sizes in the WT20v2 and what a difference! There is roughly 3/4 inch difference in length between a size 9 in each model, with the WT20v2 being longer.. .it was actually too big for me. The size difference between the 9 in WT20v1 and a size 8.5 in the WT20v2 was around 1/4 inch, with the smaller size WT20v2 STILL being larger than the size 9 of the former shoe! I also felt like I had more "wiggle" room in the WT20v2, even though it was a half size smaller than the other model. I am better able to splay out my toes more for a more natural bare-foot style run.

Both shoes felt basically the same, but I like the sole and traction better on the WT20v2. . it also seemed to have a bit more support. So if you like the original WT20v1, then I would suggest ordering up at least a whole size (especially if you have long toes like me. My foot is not wide, at all!) The WT20v2 is more true to size and you can order your normal shoe size and it should work out very well. I ended up going with a size 8.5 in the WT20v2 and couldn't be happier. Oh, I also got the pink shoe and the color is not quite as vibrant as what I see on the computer monitor. It is more of a raspberry pink and very pretty. I absolutely love the Minimus once you work around the funky sizing! Just my two cents.

New Wave Enviro 10 Stage Water Filter System Review

I purchased this filter about 3 months ago, so writing on 3 months of continual use.

I live in Sofia, Bulgaria, and the city water's a bit dodgy. For example: If you leave for a few days and come back, lot's of rusty colored brown water which pours out for the first minute or so of running the tap.

PROS:
Overall, I *love* the water filter:

It's easy to set up,
The water seems to come out pretty clean/tasty. I've been using various Brita filters in the past, and I prefer this one by far. It could be psychosomatic, just *thinking* that it's a bigger & beefier filter, but...
It's also convenient, no frequent filter changes and it takes up very little counter space. I also didn't like having to always remember to frequently change the Brita filters.

CONS:
The only downside is that the auto turn-off feature is a bit sketchy. Mine stopped working after 1 week. There's a small metal valve on the faucet that you pull out to get the water re-routed to the filter. When you turn off the faucet, this valve is supposed to automatically pop back into place (into the off position). The thing broke very fast (1 week, as mentioned), which is disappointing. Now, when the water faucet is turned off, I have to remember to manually push the valve back to the "off" position. There's a warning in the instructions that you shouldn't push it back into the "off" position when the water is still running (which I didn't do, but it still broke). However, now i just have to be mindful to push it back in when I'm finished using it. Not a big deal, but something to think about.

I'd give her 5 stars if the build quality of the valve was better!

Update: I've been using the filter for over a year now (I'm on my second filter change), and it's still fantastic. I fill up 1.5 litre bottles every day to take to work (rather than waste buying plastic bottles), and it's great! Tastes good, and environmentally friendly! I changed my previous filter after the recommended 1 year, and the filter change went easy. Great product!
