I enjoyed using this Jade mat for the past 10 months or so. My only real gripe is that it wore out so quickly. To be fair, though, it didn't last any longer or shorter than my previous mats. But for the price, I had hoped that I could get more than a year of use out of it.

The mat is heavier and thicker than most mats. It is also, at least initially, perhaps a little less sticky than some of the other mats I've used. Once in a while I did have some trouble slipping on the mat during my practice, but this was due to sweat, and I doubt any other mat would perform better in this respect.

For the money, I would probably go for a Manduka mat. That's what I've switched to, and I have no complaints. The benefit of a Jade mat, however, is that it is more ecologically friendly since it is, I believe, constructed entirely out of biodegradable material, which is something you can't say for most mats, including the Manduka.

I've been a runner for over 10 years, I've tried Mizuno,New Balance, Saucony, Nike as running shoes, for some reason it took me a long time to get to the Asics, now I am kicking myself after I tried these out, these are the most comfortable, lightweight trainer shoes, is the right frontier between lightweight and hell of a cushioning.

They do feel different, and this is asics intention the 33 collection is supposed to bring a more natural foot movements and it does, the shoe kinda merges with you feet, it's a nice, fresh symbiotic relationship LOL

No problem with the widht, version 1.0 was narrow, this isn't, this is perfectly adjusted and as mentioned in other reviews, laces now have the right lenght.

This is the perfect trainer for an every day run, no sourness or any sort of pain whatsoever after using them for hours.
This is the one, buy it.

6 month use update:
These were not just a good first impression, after 6 months they continue to be as good as they have always been in cushioning, comfort and lightweight.Highly recommended, I just bought my wife the blur2.0 for ladies, same good experience.

I use lightweight shoes especially for low distance competitions (1km-10km), it is most comfortable than most lightweighted shoes and shock absorption is good, I use these shoes about 4-5 times a week, each time to run from 5km-7km, rarely 10km (but still comfortable at 10km). I would think it twice before engaging these in a 15km and up race due to its nature of being lightweighted.

Works for casual too, very nice looking with a pair of jeans, and people will comment about it; been there, done that.

Merrell Men's Moab Ventilator,Black Night,12 M US Review

Hands down the most comfortable shoe I own.. I wear them to work at times and I feel the support with every step.

I spent nearly two hours at a large shoe store picking the most comfortable shoe and this was my result.. I will never regret those two hours. I even ran in the store to test them and the other shoes!

If it weren't awkward, I'd give them away as gifts.. they're that wonderful.

I'm an avid hiker and they're definitely slip resistant and you just feel like you're riding a marvelous car.

November 2011 update: I still think it's a great shoe for comfort and hiking however, it can definitely get hot in there even without exercise.. the vents are not very efficient

I am somewhat disappointed with this product. I expected not to skid at all, and I still slide around a fair bit in yoga class. It does do a great job absorbing sweat in hot yoga classes and it also moves around very little on my mat, even when I jump forward/back. However, I'm still looking for something that will help my hands to stop sliding when I'm in downward dog. I had hoped this was that solution, but it's not.

I've had one other pair of Puma Voltaic sneakers before these. I had them for over a year and a half and loved them so much. I'm on my feet all day at work, running around and my feet never hurt and my legs never got tired. When they started to wear out I was on Amazon hunting down a new pair. Mizuno Women's Wave Inspire 9 Running Shoe,Blue/Lime/Pink,7 D US Review

I strongly encourage anyone who wants to buy running shoes to go to his/her local running store and finding a pair that is a good fit. A local running store with experts is the best...not a DSW warehouse type of store. I went to Runningfit, did a walking test, learned that I overpronate and needed a good stability shoe. I tried on several pairs, but the Mizuno Wave Inspire 9 fit my feet the best. In my opinion, Mizuno's tend to be narrower and size is smaller. I went up half a size.

These shoes are incredibly lightweight, provide sufficient cushioning (although I thought Brooks Adrenaline GTS 13 provided more cushion but it wasn't as lightweight), and support my feet well to prevent injury. I love these shoes. I love the color. I've only had them a few days and have ran 30+ miles. Absolutely no regrets.

If you don't have access to a running store, have someone watch you walk to see if you pronate. You can also take online tests that will recommend shoes for you ([...]). I also suggest runningwarehouse.com because they provide FREE returns. I've had a positive experience with their customer service as well.

Bottom line: 1) try on shoes to find a good fit. 2) I love my Mizuno's.
