ATI Mosin Nagant 7.62x54R Monte Carlo Stock Review

This is a vast improvement over the original wood stocks that come with these rifles. For my M91/30 it did drop right in with only a little filing that had to be on the front lip of the magazine where the upper and lower parts mate in order for bolt to chamber correctly (lip just stuck up a little too high and the bolt would catch on it). It was obvious and simple to do.

Overall its a great replacement stock with a good feel. I was hoping that the butt pad would be a little better (more forgiving), so that it might dull the kick of this thing a little, but its pretty hard. Needless to say after shooting 50 rounds at the range this weekend, I still have a sore (slightly bruised) shoulder. So a recommendation would still be to buy an additional recoil pad for days at the range.

Also be careful with the cleaning fluids on this, as some will slightly discolor the stock (as I have found out). I recommend disassembling the rifle and setting the stock aside before using anything that is not water based to clean the metal parts.
